Baxters River Ness 5K Fun Run
Our popular 5K Fun Run is open to runners of all ages and abilities including wheelchair entrants, following a flat route along the River Ness and finishes at the Bught Park.
The 5K Fun Run starts at 10.15am on Sunday 3 October at Bught Park

The organisers reserve the right to alter the route if operationally required.

Wheelchair Entries:
The race is fully wheelchair accessible and we welcome wheelchair entries.
Entry Fees:

Confirmation of Entry
Successful applicants will receive confirmation by email so please include your email address when entering. If you do not have email please check your bank statement for confirmation of race entry.
All 5K runners will be sent race information by post in September. No other correspondence is sent unless you have signed up to the e-newsletter.

Sunday, October 3
08.00-09.45 Pre-race Registration at Bught Park. (see route map or visit google maps ) Limited number of 5K entries available.
10.15 Start of Baxters River Ness 5K Fun Run.
Pre-Race Registration
All 5K runners must attend pre-race Registration to collect their race numbers between 12.30-18.00 on Saturday 2 October or between 08.00-09.45 on Sunday 3 October at Bught Park, Inverness. A limited number of race day entries will be available over race weekend. Please allow at least an hour before close of registration if you plan to collect your race number on Sunday.
Baxters Pasta Party
We also hope you will join us at the Baxters Pasta Party taking place between 12.30-17.30 on Saturday 2 October. All runners, friends and family are invited! Here you will be able to "carbo-load" on a three-course meal of soup & roll, pasta & salad and dessert. A vegetarian and meat option will be available. During the Pasta Party there will be live music, and a small number of physiotherapists and massage therapists will provide massage in return for a small donation to charity.
Pasta party tickets are available to purchase online until 14 September and then will be available to purchase during the Pasta Party and Pre-race Registration.
The Start
The Start is at Bught Park and a fun aerobic warm-up will take place. There will be a staggered start - all adults and secondary school runners will start first, followed by all primary school runners and wheelchair participants one minute later.
Adults wishing to escort primary school runners and wheelchair participants are welcome to do so.
The Finish
The Finish is along the River Ness at Bught Park. Here you will be presented with your finisher's medal, t-shirt and fantastic goody bag. All 5K finishers receive a complimentary Baxters soup & roll. Showers and changing facilities are available at the Sports Centre. Massage is available for a small donation to charity.
Spot prizes will be awarded.
Festival on Race Day
We are planning a fantastic line-up of entertainment and activities at the Finish at Bught Park – with massed pipes & drums, live music, charity and sports retailer stands, food & drink stalls and kid's activities.
Schools & Clubs Initiative
Schools, clubs and disability groups are invited to enter teams to run the 5k Fun Run through our Schools and Clubs Initiative, which offers reduced entry fees and other incentives. For further information about putting in a team please email info@lochnessmarathon.com or call 0870 127 8000. Team entries must be received by September 13.

Marathon-Photos.com will be taking photographs and video of the competitors on the course and at the finish. The photos will be available online within 72 hours of the event to every entrant as exclusive photo products. Plus every competitor will be able to download for FREE their Event Certificate.

We would encourage all spectators to come to Bught Park where all three races finish and enjoy our Festival atmosphere and highland hospitality.
Volunteers
We need your help! Volunteers are needed to undertake a variety of tasks including; assisting at drink stations; undertaking road marshal duties and many other key tasks.
